What if the Kalmar Union never collapsed?
Hi.
I think it'd be an interesting question to ask yourselves. What if the personal union between Denmark, Norway and Sweden never collapsed?
Historically Sweden declared independence after the Stockholm Bloodbath where the Danish king Christian 2. executed a lot of Swedish nobility. What if he executed all of them, and made Sweden into his puppet? Norway didn't break free from the union, until after the Napoleonic Wars where Denmark was forced to cede Norway to Sweden, as a compensation for the Swedish loss of Finland.
Would it be an economic superpower?
Would it have lost Slesvig-Holsten?

If the Kalmar Union still existed to this day, where would it's capital be?

It would collapse still. Perhaps join a disastrous war and been broken apart from it. But indeed, it would have been a mighty power in Europe.
