What is the most interesting year for World War 2?
Most interesting World War 2 year?
World War 2 is one of the deadliest wars that's ever been fought in history. There is so much to learn about, but I wonder what year do you find the most interesting to learn about? I personally like 1941 the most, because Operation Barbarossa and Pearl Harbor are 2 of the most important events during the war and brought 2 of the most powerful countries to join the war. It is also the closest time during the war and the closest the Axis came to victory.

I'd say 1941. Yugoslavia and Greece finally being taken over by the Axis, Operation Barbarossa, and then finishing off with the bombing of Pearl Harbor, finally bringing every major country in the world into the war (except Spain, if you want to consider them).

Easily 1941, it's got operation Barborossa, an offensive that spanned almost the entire size of the US west coast. The cracking of Enigma in July 1941. Pearl Harbour. The end of the Blitz. Fall of Hong Kong. It's also one of the most pivotal parts of the war, with the entering of the largest enemy to Germany (USSR), and getting the largest industrial base in the world involved as well.

I'd say 1943, it marks the beginning of the end for the Third Reich and its European allies. With colossal defeats at Stalingrad early in the year, Kursk in the middle of the year. Not just that but also the Axis losing North Africa, and the invasion of Italy.

'41 for sure, when you think of WW2, it's typically anything related to 41 such as Barbarossa, Pearl Harbor, and North Africa. '44 is definitely a close second with Normandy and the bulge.

I personally am interested most by 1940, because of the extremely quick campaigns of Hitler, all the failures of the Italians (and I'm Italian

I also give an honorable mention to 1942, as a lot of the things we associate with 1941 like Barbarossa and Pearl Harbor were pretty late in the year and in 1942 it was still an even fight and many important battles (El-Alamein, Midway and Stalingrad come to mind immediately)
