During the napoleonic wars, France and Spain had allied to attack Portugal, however, when french troops entered Spain the followers of Ferdindad VII rose him to power, Ferdinand was anti-french, so Napoleon installed his Brother Jose Bonaparte as king of spain and occupied the country. If This had not happened and Charles IV kept the throne, Could the spanish Empire have survived at least until the 20th century?

It's pretty unlikely, Spain had been cornered into and was plagued by terrible trading policies throughout the late 18th century. This tanked the Spanish economy, and greatly lowered the quality of life throughout the Empire (including the mainland) Causing a large amount of unrest and destability in the Empire. Couple that with serious corruption, serious technological disadvantages in Iberia compared to the rest of Europe, Problems with food, and the problem of the Monarchy..... I don't think the empire could have held on for much longer. It was simply a barrel of gunpowder waiting for a spark.... king
