Favorite monarch? (King/Queen, Emperor/Empress, etc.)
Fairly self-explanatory post! Who is your favorite monarch and why? Can be from anywhere at any time!
Edit: They don't have to necessarily be the most capable monarch-- just your favorite! For whatever reasons you may have!

Seleucus Nicator. (The person in my username). Greatest among the successors of Alexander the Great, friend of Chandragupta. Besides him, though, I'd say Mehmet the II, conqueror of the city of the world's desire.

Although not a "monarch" Julius Caesar is my favorite simply for all the stuff that happened during his life from politics to military campaigns.

Alexander I Of Russia, Alexander The Blessed. Kicked The Hell Out Of Napoleon from Russia, drove the French back to Paris, after that Russia had the biggest army in the world. He was a intelectual, a Illuminist himself. Considered the fact of being the king a burden. Small talk he faked his death and become a wanderer. In fact severall years later a wanderer appeared in Russia about the same age well educated in languages, history and in the Russian Court costumes, if i'm not mistaken he (the wanderer) received a personal guard right from the Czar.

Pedro II the "Magnanimous" (my avatar).
This is the Wikipedia article on him:
"Inheriting an Empire on the verge of disintegration, Pedro II turned Portuguese-speaking Brazil into an emerging power in the international arena. The nation grew to be distinguished from its Hispanic neighbors on account of its political stability, zealously guarded freedom of speech, respect for civil rights, vibrant economic growth and especially for its form of government: a functional, representative parliamentary monarchy. Brazil was also victorious in three international conflicts (the Platine War, the Uruguayan War and the Paraguayan War) under his rule, as well as prevailing in several other international disputes and domestic tensions. Pedro II steadfastly pushed through the abolition of slavery despite opposition from powerful political and economic interests. A savant in his own right, the Emperor established a reputation as a vigorous sponsor of learning, culture and the sciences. He won the respect and admiration of scholars such as Charles Darwin, Victor Hugo and Friedrich Nietzsche, and was a friend to Richard Wagner, Louis Pasteur and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, among others."

Ivan III the Great of Russia (Don't confuse him with more famous Ivan IV the Fearsome or the Terrible).
This guy is literally the founding father of our nation. He was the one to completely free Russia from the Golden Horde. He was the one who finally unified all Russian land and conquered Novgorod. His sudebnik has finally sorted out the Russian succession and finally gave it a common system of laws. First examples of non-religious literature appeared under his reign.
The ideology of the Third Rome, which he supported, became dominant in Russian philosophy up until XVII centuary. He even was the one who coined a term "Russia" or "Rusia".
All in all, he was pretty important, however for some reason people have almost completly forgotten about him.

Leopoldo II of Belgium.
The man from a small European country who looked at a map and decided that a huge chunk of central Africa now belonged to him personally. He started the scramble (or scribble) for Africa, but keep in mind he did commit countless attricities
Or
Charles V of the Holy Roman Empire:
He embodied feudalism. Ruler of Germany, Spain, Netherlands and Naples thanks to inheritance. He also had claim to the entire new world. However he failed to stop the Protestant Reformation.
