American Continent
There is a misconception about The Americas. North America, South America and you forgot to include Central America and Caribbean.
North America: Greenland, Saint Pierre et Miquelon, Canada, USA and Mexico
Central America and Caribbean: for Central America we have Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. For Caribbean we have the great Antilles: Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica and Puerto Rico and the minor Antilles: Bermuda, Bahamas, Caiman Island, Turk and Caicos, Virgin Islands (USA and UK), Anguilla, St. Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, Montserrat, La Guadalupe, La Martinique, Dominica, St. Vicent and Grenadines, St. Lucia, Barbados, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, Aruba and Curacao
South America: Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guyana, Brasil, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay

Re: American Continent
I always thought that North And South America (North Ending at the south of Panama and including all the Carribean) was the Physical Boundaries while Central America was like a Sub Category, just like the Southern Ocean isn't an actual Ocean but just a reference term.

Re: American Continent
Well it's because most people who have some knowledge of geography conclude that Central America and The Caribbean are both part of North America for the most part.

Re: American Continent
The same mistake that some people says that America is a country and not a continent

Re: American Continent
The continent America is divided between North and South america, connected by the isthmus of panama (geography)
Cultural and political division is like Europe, Asia, Africa, or Eurasia? Afro-Eurasia?

Re: American Continent
I am sorry but I have to disagree with you, Central America and Caribbean counts like that, North, Central and Caribbean and South America

Re: American Continent
Thank you for the map. That clearly shows that Central America and the Caribbean are part of North America. I don' understand the reasoning behind counting Central America and the Caribbean as separate to North America. Not trying to be mean or anything, I am just unsure of the reasoning.

Re: American Continent
In geography, Central America and Caribbean is consider another region rather than North and South. I am sorry but I disagree with you

Re: American Continent
I think a seven ringed Olympic flag would be a little crowded and its just easier to throw the 2 Americas together (Just like it is easier to put Central America and The Caribbean into North America).

It is considered a subcategory, not a category unto itself. For example, the Middle East is not another continent but rather is divided among Asia, Africa, and Europe, respectively. It's considered another category to define a region too small to be a continent or a separate region all on its own.

Thank you for putting that in a better way than I could.
