Favorite State with 100+ National Landmarks
National Landmarks in the US

I just thought it was interesting that 5 states makeup 1/3 of the national landmarks. Those states are in descending order: New York with 276, Massachusetts with 189, Pennsylvania with 168, California with 145, and Virginia with 121. I just thought that was interesting.

In New York Massachusetts and Pennsylvania it is so densely populated they have to have national parks.

And I guess that could go for a California and Virginia.

My favorite is Smoky Mountain National Park.

I thought it was also pretty interesting that there is a US National Landmark in Morocco. It's called the American Legation and it was the first American Property on foreign soil.
