Energy Sources Empty Energy Sources

Many countries subsidize some form of energy, tax others, or impose restrictions. Regardless of your stance on global climate change, I think most everyone opposes pollution but also wants to avoid harming the economy. So, what should energy policy look like?

In my opinion, Nuclear energy is currently very safe, as well as producing mountains of energy with very little emissions and a rather small amount of waste. Therefore, I would support a semi-nationalization of the energy industry with nuclear power being at the forefront, as well as hydropower, which is popular where I live, in the Pacific Northwest.

Thoughts?

Before I cast my vote, how are you defining "favorable"?

Just what should be used, or prioritized, or subsidized. What would be the best course of action. Obviously there are a lot of things to consider, like cost, jobs, emissions, waste, etc.

In a country like Chile... I don't really see favorable the nuclear energy, I prefer way more the solar energy or the Hydroelectric, this last one actually provide of energy to the whole country nowadays.
