Possible French victory in Franco-Prussian War?
This concept has been in my head for a while and never really has been explored, only example I can think of right now is a mod for HOI4. The victory could have been possible if Napoleon III's efforts to increase the size of his army succeeded. If they did win Germany's efforts to unify would be shot down and it would take much longer for their formation to take place. Any other ideas of what would have happened?

Well first thing would be the Unification of Germany would be setback. The southern states would be more hesitant to join the North German Confederation and give up their rights, especially with some issues such as religion dividing the two areas.
Second it would change the alliance system of France. The revanchism of the late 19th century would never take place, and France would be less likely to focus solely on countering Germany like in our timeline. This changes its relationship with both the UK and Russia, and would most likely continue its age-old rivalry with the British with the Napoleonic wars still in the minds of many.
Most importantly, Austria-Hungary would see the weakness of Prussia. It is possible they would try to get the southern states to join them, continuing the conflict between Prussia and Austria, and also changing Germany culture wise, where the North and South developing even more differences than in our timeline.
World War 1 was bound to happen once alliances started popping out, but they would be much more different and with that the shape of Europe would change drastically from ours depending on who joins who and which side wins.

I agree that the Southern states would be swung over to Austria-Hungary. Possibly the Austrians could have allied the French, maybe even France's victory could have been with Austrian help sementing a strong Austrian-French alliance. There would also be a good chance of a Anglo-Prussian alliance as the British wouldn't be as friendly to the French. Maybe if the Franco-Austrian alliance does occur, Russia could join an alliance with Prussia as they were still allied to the Serbs and had interests that collided with those of Austria's. Italy would definitely be in a position where they had to ally with the French.
