What if the French Revolution in 1789 just failed and the King remained in power?
Think about it, it would have major implications: no Napoleonic Wars, no nationalistic fervor (no Germany and Italy, or maybe after many years), a very different societal progression. Do you think other revolutions would have arose and made the same changes or maybe the "Old Regime" would have mantained the Status Quo in Europe, leading to completely different World Wars and therefore to also a very different today's world?
