The most famous germanic tribes (like Franks, Ostrogoths or Burgundians) migrated into the crumbling Roman Empire and created the romance ethnicities, but the which barbarian tribes the current German population come from?

Re: Who the Germans come from?
Germanic-speaking peoples migrated out of Scandinavia into Northern Germany. Specific tribes? I can think of the Frisians, Angles, and Saxons who eventually became the Dutch, English, and Germans.

But didn't the saxons migrate together with the Angles to form the Anglo-Saxons?
I heard about a tribe called Rugii and another called Lugii: is it possible that they founded the current German populace?
P.S.: the NORTHERN germans, because I know that in modern-day Bavaria there were the Bavars.
