Best American flag

Russian America is pretty cool

Mississippi has the best, Colorado has the worst, Kansas has the most misleading (their are no mountains in Kansas as shown on its flag), Oregon has potentially the most confusing (only state flag with a front and reverse side).

Yeah, it's a horrible trend that goes on for the vast majority of states. I mean honestly if you didn't know any better could you tell what state flags these are, which one is Michigan and which one is New York?

Bad Bedsheet flags make up the majority of State flags, even more on the city and county levels...

That exactly proves the problems with a lot of the US flags

At least they have slightly different shades of blue so you could differentiate them side by side

Here is my state flag. It's sad that we have this because we have so many historical alternatives that are so much better.

I knew that the flag of the left was from Michigan just because it says "Peninsulam" and Michigan is a Peninsula, so that one was easy.

Yeah, but flustering in the distance a mile away you can't tell anything apart, while you can easily tell apart say Texas and California even more miles away.

Yeah that's a big problem, that's why almost every regional flag of the world suck, specially the ones that have a blue common background, like some American state flags haha.
I think that the people who designed those flags didn't know the real purpose of these pieces of cloth.

I'd be interested in how the Bedsheet flags began, as some states that had bed sheet flags used to have something more complex. Until 1923 Vermont had this flag

And as an independent republic until the 1790s, this flag.


Now its just a Bedsheet flag.

The nice thing about living in Kansas is, not only does the flag look nicer, but it's also helpfully labeled 'KANSAS' to make it easier on the schoolkids.

Of course, the absolute worst is New Jersey. This just makes me want to vomit:

Top 5 US state flags in no particular order are: Texas, Ohio, Arizona, Hawaii, and Colorado. The others are either bland, too strange, or confederate based.
