A New World

The setting, sometime in the future,
Mankind has discovered a planet exactly like Earth except no humans,
You are the captain of the ship and have been sent to colonize the new planet,
When you reach the planet you are too far away from Earth to communicate,

What do you do, what type of Society do you build, what are the first rules and laws.

First the captain should find the best suitable spot for living and growing food.

Then the captain would need to set up some basic rules like No killing and no stealing.

In the 1980s, scientists found a meteor in Antarctica, knownas ALH84001 and believed to originate on Mars, and they found fossilized bacteria inside it, which may indicate that at one point, Mars sustained some form of life.

At the very most, there may have been some examples of primitive microbes living on mars billions of years ago. However, this theory is based on circumstantial evidence involving certain chemicals found in Martian soil and ice. There is as yet no direct proof of actual lifeforms having lived there.
