The Third World War

The Third World War has always been a fascinating thing to think about. I also have my theories about it and I think about these theories a lot. There are lot's of possibilities how a new world war could start and what kind of alliances there will be in such a war. I personally think that it would be a war between the Western nations against nations like Russia and China. What do you think about it.

I agree that it would be the Western-aligned nations vs Russia and China, but it could probably end up entailing more nations, such as Korea, India and Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and other turbulent nations.

I only do not really know if China and Russia will work together. I think they probably do but sometimes they have different opinions. China or Russia could also be a third faction in the war. Also I have not an exact idea which side Pakistan and India are. The only thing that is almost certain is that they will be fighting each other.

I think China and Russia would work together considering their both BRICS nations, and their economies are closely tied. I also believe that Pakistan would join them, considering they would have a chance to fight India with China and take Kashmir. This would probably put India on the western side in order to gain allies because they kinda were defaulting into it since the BRICS side attacked them.

This absolutely possible. It could also be that India joins Russia and China because it is also India a BRICS nation. Pakistan would than probably join the US alliance. Pakistan also had some good negotiations with the US because they wanted to kill terrorists. However the theory of Pakistan joining Russia and China is also very likely because China and Pakistan both want some Indian territory. They can probably make a good share deal like Nazi Germany and the USSR over Poland.

Both of those are very possible, but which scenario would happen?

I think it depends on time in the future and scenario. Also the leaders of the countries matter. For instance: George W Bush and Putin liked each other but Obama and Putin didn't really like each other. In the time of Bush Russia would may join the us if they had a big war and needed help but in the time of Obama Russia probably would have joined the force against the US.

I would think that Vietnam would side with China, with both being Socialist countries, and also Saudi Arabia would join Team 1, with their close relations with the US.

That is possible. The only thing is that Vietnam is pretty close with Russia but it had a war with China last century even while they had the same ideology. The US is also helping Vietnam with support against China. Saudi Arabia is absolutely friends with the US but it hates Israel, another big friend of the US. But Saudi Arabia and Israel both hate Iran so maybe they can work together.

Very true, though why is Morocco on Team 1? Don't they have a rivalry with Spain?

Morocco and the US have a very close relation with each other. Morocco was one of the first countries together with France and the Dutch Republic to have a good relation with the United States of America. That is why I putted Morocco by team 1. By the way I have no idea on which side most of the Latin-American countries will be. I only know that Venezuela and Cuba like Russia.

That seems reasonable, those countries do seem very neutral.

Well all American countries are in the Organization of American States so they might join the US. However not all Latin-American nations like the USA. Venezuela and Cuba are more fan of Russia. Brazil is a BRICS member so it has Russia and China as economical partner. The US-Mexican relation is also damaged because Trump wants to build a Wall. Argentina had a conflict with Britain over the Falklands. However the US supported Argentina even while Britain is a Nato member.

Could be but if there comes a different US president like Obama in the future that really cares about thins like NAFTA and has some other good trade deals with Latin-American countries than they will probably more choose for the US side.

The African relations are a little unclear to me. I know that Egypt and South Africa have strong armies. Angola is a little friends with Russia and China but I don't know if their army is strong enough to fight in a big war.

Small update to the WW3 map: added Angola to probably team 2 and Nigeria(because of growing population) and Thailand (because of army size) to will join but unknown which side.

We can't forget that China has lots of economic involvement in many African and Southeast Asian countries. If the war occurs in the future, China could have time to build much closer relations and tighten economic control over the nations it is involved in.

That's is true but their are more countries that also have economic influence in Africa. European nations still have some economical relations with their former colonies. Another thing is that lots of African countries don't have the resources or the army to fight in a very big war. Their money comes from rich nations like china and western nations. They depend on that wealth. If a big war occurs China and Western Nations may need that money for their self. So a lot of African countries will collapse or stay neutral because they don't have enough money for a war.
